No. The player is free on every device, with no ads. A plan adds cloud storage and lightshows.
What happens to my music if I cancel?
You keep streaming, but uploads stop. After 10 days, your oldest songs over your new plan's storage limit are deleted until you're back under it. If you cancel, that's the free limit. If you change to a smaller plan, it's that plan's limit. Anything that fits stays.
